Directing and directors calls

The director is the one incharge. He or she will sit in a room with a vison mixer and an assistant director and will talk to all the camera operators. He or she will call a camera number and then call cut, the vision mixer will then press the number camera that the director called and that camera will be on air. For example: coming to camera 4, cut, button pressed, camera 4 is on air. They will know this due to the red light that is solid on top of there camera. The director can also talk to the floor manager and discuss where the talent should be sitting. They will also ask if everyone is ready before they go on air.
